What's Up with Peaches?

So I prayed and hoped that we would have a peaceful, quite night last night. Guess what WE got?

Peaches being sick from 10PM til now (noon Sunday). What fun! John was washing sheets and towels at 10:30 PM and my second load was in at 8:00 AM. Peaches is finally starting to talk and move from the couch to the chair. I had her in the shower at 10:30 PM and again around 9:00 AM. I felt so sorry for my baby. I must thank my wonderful husband for keeping watch and sleeping with her so I could TRY to get some rest. Yeah, that didn't happen. Every time she was sick I was up (which ended up being about every 30-45 minutes).

I think I used a whole can of Lysol to disinfect the house and John and I have washed our hands 100 times already this morning. John put out some bowls of vinegar to rid the house of the "sick" odor. Guess we will flip a coin to see who stays home from work tomorrow.

Now lets pray that John and I don't get it!

Sick

So I've had the sinus grud now for over a week. Trying to self medicate but I'm not having much luck. Thursday night I was up every 1/2 hour which led to a pretty miserable night. Thank goodness I only worked 3 hours Friday.

I have also been having horrible back aches and thought I was going to end up in the ER Wednesday. I came home and laid down from 7Pm til the next morning and the pain didn't go away until 5:30AM Thursday morning. On the bright side-I didn't have any swelling in my legs or feet for 2 days.

Thank goodness the weather was so nasty today because that gave me an excuse to stay in bed until 2PM. Then I finally got up and took a shower. I then put my PJ's back on and plopped down in the recliner the rest of the day. I did have enough energy to make a Tatar Tot Casserole which was yummy and the perfect comfort food on such a wet day (thanks MB for the recipe). Thank you to my wonderful neighbor who was kind enough to watch Peaches for 3 hours so I could rest.

I just hope the Unisom and other meds kick in pretty soon so I can sleep peacefully through the night.

Plea for a Sitter

Ok, I know I am starting early but I need your help in finding a sitter to watch the new baby when she turns about 8 weeks old (which will be in June) and Peaches. I will need someone from approx. 8:00AM to 5:30 PM M-F. My flex days are every other Friday and I get off at 11:30AM.

The sitter could either stay at our house or we could take the kids to her house.
Peaches will start school in August so we would only need a sitter to watch both kids for approx. 2 months. Peaches will be in after school daycare when school starts.

On the days that school is closed the sitter will have both the baby and Peaches (unless John or I take off work).

Can you please check around and see if you know someone that needs some extra income (and you would trust to leave your kids with)?

So Far So Good

I have managed to stick to my New Years Resolution.

1. We have cut our cell phone bill by 19%
2. We are still price matching and coupon shopping-saved another $10.00 on my last trip just by price matching
3. We are switching from Satellite to Cable to save $20 a month
4. Haven't been going out to eat for lunch during the work week
5. Peaches brown bags it 4 days out of the week
6. I print out internet coupons for just about everything
7. Going to restaurant and store websites and signing up for free offers, discounts, coupons and samples

My Bargain of the Week
** Bought a $3 package of haircolor and had a $2 off coupon

That's enough for now. If anyone has more ideas on how to save $$ please let me know. I'll try anything.

First Time Price Matcher

Ok-so I kept all the grocery ads for this week and decided to price match most of the items on my grocery list. I circled all the items in ALL the flyers that I thought I might buy or need. We went to Walmart early Saturday morning and I talked to the Customer Service Rep who kindly explained how to Price Match. I am so glad I asked because I saved time and a headache by doing so. I was a LOT unorganized and had all the sale ads in my hands plus coupons plus my list......plus Peaches. I thought I did ok my first trip. I didn't get everything I planned on getting but it was my first time and like I said, I was not organized. I did save $16.85 just in price matching and $3.05 in coupons and $5.00 on free vitamins. John made a wise suggestion.....................he said I should cut the items out of the circulars like coupons and then when I get to the store write down the store price on the actual coupon before I get to the register.

The cashier was so helpful and was too busy talking that I got my vitamins free. :)

We calculated that if we do this every time we buy groceries we will save approx $400+ a year.

So, is it worth it??? Well, it takes a lot of time and a lot of patience but it is worth it. We spent 40 minutes longer in the store than we should have but we had nothing else planned. The money we saved bought us lunch after-wards.

It was fun saving money but I am going to be more prepared next time so I can save even more.

I also found out that if you just get your child's bangs cut at Great Clips, they only charge you $4. I guess I could have done it at home for free but I've done that before & they were uneven and I cut hair that wasn't actually bangs.
