Well, one of us anyway. Halloween is my favorite holiday. Better than Christmas, way better than President's Day, better than St. Patrick's Day (only by a little!), and even better than Confederate Memorial Day. I've always liked Halloween. It's the one holiday of the year when you can totally be someone else...or in my case, myself...only more awesome. I know that's hard for y'all to believe, but I do tone down my awesomeness for the general public. For example, here's me on a normal day:

I know, I know. That's pretty freakin' awesome, right? I mean, not everyone can pull off that shirt. I make it look easy. This level of awesomeness is how Laura prefers me. Now, prepare to witness the power of this fully armed battle station...oh wait, that's
Star Wars, Episode IV-A New Hope. What I meant to say was, "Check out the awesomeness that is El Rakeman!"

Laura's not smiling...she's grimacing at my complete and total awesomeness. It's like staring into the sun...you can't do it without squinting and gritting your teeth. Peaches doesn't even try the full teeth smile:

I made her wear that hat to keep from frying her brain with my awesomeness. The purple designs are actually ancient runes that protect the unwary from the ultra high levels of awesomeness that I put out. Since I've put up two pics of me...at almost full-on El Rakeman power, I might add, I'll show you one of Laura and Peaches...it'll stop your brain from boiling out of your ears:

Even when I'm not in the picture, they can't fully handle the awesomeness. But I know y'all ain't had enough yet, so:

For those concerned, not all the tats are real. The hair, however, is completely real. And totally Peach's idea. I was going to dye it orange to match the bike, but we are headed to Charleston on Sunday for a baby blessing, and I didn't want to chance not being able to get the orange dye off my head. The mohawk I can fix easily. Orange dye on the head as I'm helping bless a baby...not so much. The original idea was to go to a tattoo shop and get them to do some neck and head drawings (fake tats), but again, I wasn't sure if I could get them off for Sunday. The only thing worse than an orange stripe on my head would be spider web tats peeking up out of my white collared shirt!
Laura is a band nerd. In case the letter jacket with all the (real) medals and such, and the recorder didn't give it away. My letter jacket just has sports stuff on it...no medals. Her's is truly neat, though. She was (is) a
serious band nerd. Just ask her to show you the jacket. No recorder medals on there, though. Only one of us takes Halloween to the max. I don't think she was willing to spend the cash on a marching French horn just to tote it around Trunk or Treat.
Peaches did great as a witch. Like I said...some of us are someone else, and some of us are ourselves... She got out of the wig shortly after getting to Trunk or Treat...something about sweating through the wig. Her main concern was candy. She did very well, and I'll be eating candy until March. Tonight we're doing it all over again, but with way more walking. And I think Peach is going as a ballerina/fairy, instead of a witch. Some of us go as someone else, some as ourselves....
