Download Overload

Once a year we get our yard cleaned up and tree limbs cut back. We hire the same guy so he knows exactly what I like. I have actually hired him to come quarterly so my neighbors can stop talking about how trashy our yard is. I feel so clean when my yard is leaf free.

Poor trash guys had a load to take away that day!
Yes, I let my children climb on top of the table and counter tops. Guess who started this first? Yup-Em.
Em loving Monkey Joes!
Our new to us V8 Pick-Em-Up Truck. Love the truck and hate the gas bill. Notice the new kayak that John got for Valentines Day, Christmas, Birthday, Anniversary, Presidents Day and any other Holiday in 2012.
Peaches and I made flower pens for the teachers for Valentine's Day.
This past Saturday Peaches and her two BFF's ran a lemonade stand and make $42 for Pets, Inc. They sold bottled water, cookies and lemonade. Since they did so well this time we will step it up on the next one (when the weather warms up). They gave away free candy for every purchase, the refills were free and some lucky customers even got free cookies (hot out of the oven too). Some customers got suckered into buying cookies even when they only wanted lemonade. Those girls really worked their stuff. I can't say even how very proud I was for all their hard work.
When they made their donation to Pets, Inc. the volunteer treated them like Royalty. She gave them a puppy (that was being adopted) to hold and took down their names and took plenty of pictures of them to post up in the lobby. It was a very rewarding experience for them (and very tiring for mom and dad). Many, many thanks to those that supported the girls!

Father-daughter dance. I get so excited this time of year because I think the father-daughter dance is so special. Em just couldn't let them have their moment. She wanted to shine too.

Peaches felt like such a princess that night. She was so excited.
I do believe that I have the best children in the world-and the most beautiful too.
Notice Peaches face in the background. I just couldn't get a decent picture if I tried.
I was able to get the entire family into EdVenture for $9.50. Good thing too because it is soooo not worth the $40 we would have spent.
My favorite part of course is the Little Pigs Grocery Store.
Em liked hearing all of the beeps.

Bathroom remodels (1/2 done). The counter tops, mirrors, sink, light fixtures, and tile floors are all new. The cabinets have new doors and are freshly painted. We just need to paint the walls and we are done. I absolutely hate painting so it just might stay mismatched for a while longer. I know I am driving most of you nuts so feel free to volunteer to paint. You would think with my OCD that this would bother me........nope.

To Do List

In the next few months I want to accomplish the following:

1. Eating at Brazilian Steakhouse (They are one of my clients so I might as well try them out).
2. Lose 5-10 pounds and get rid of my chunky thighs so my body even outs
3. Peaches wants me to shave more (don't know why)
4. Watch less TV
5. Get through more of the Book of Mormon-still on 1st Nephi and have been since Jan 3rd
6. Go to Great Wolf Lodge
7. Spend more time playing with my children and less time cleaning
8. Have more "me" time
9. Get a hobby
10. Go out with friends more often
11. Stop stressing over everything
12. Eat at Catch 22
13. Eat at Chocolate Monkey (One of John's co-workers new business)
14. Enroll the girls in something fun
15. Discipline the children more and teach them to have respect for their elders and have good manners (fine tune what they already have)

Christmas 2011

Okay so my pictures are always posted backwards so you will have to start from Christmas day and work you way to the beginning. Our Christmas dinner at IHOP! We were so happy to be with the other 6% NOT eating traditional turkey and dressing on Christmas. We were probably the most overdressed family there!
Santa brought Peaches her very own IPOD Touch. She was so happy she had "Joy Tears" as she called it.
Santa was good to Em too. Now she can cook and speak Spanish at the same time.
The after Santa visit.
The before Santa visit.
Sprinkling Magic dust on the front lawn at 9:30 Christmas Eve.
Christmas Eve dinner at Popeye's.

We love their spicy, greasy chicken and Cajun mashed potatoes.
Cheese!
Day two of our visit to Pets, Inc. to love on the animals. Here is Peaches cuddling with blind Snickers (6 week old kitten).
Em times two!
My truffles......oooooh so chocolatey and yummy!
Church Christmas dinner. Em and John doing "Crazy Eyes".
The elves brought the girls some pre-Santa letters (better watch out, better be good letters) and decided to eat part of Peaches donuts before they left.

Mini fries at McD's. What a disappointment! Happy Meals just aren't happy anymore with their mini fries.
Making gingerbread shacks with Peaches other BFF.
Peaches in her ballgown.
Our beautiful Christmas tree. We always pick out the perfect tree every year.
At the tree farm deciding if this 7 footer is big enough.
Treats during our visit. Nothing like sticky candy canes, coke and tree sap to start off your day.

No Christmas Traditions

Well, since we don't have our family close by we will have to invent things to do for the Holidays. I guess you can say we will be starting our own traditions. I'm so used to someone else cooking and cleaning, stressing and fretting and I guess this year I just might have to put on an apron and pull my hair out! I said "Might".
Last year on Christmas Eve we went to Pets, Inc. to make a donation and spent most of the day there. The owner allowed Peaches to sit inside the kennels with the pups and kiss and love on them. It was a very rewarding experience but we were so sad to say goodbye (well, two of us were).
We then went to eat at Popeye's for dinner.....the story behind this is every Christmas Eve my mom hosts a party and they eat tons of goodies AND Popeye's Spicy chicken. I was not going to miss out on that last year. I think that we just might do it again this year. I eat fried chicken once a year and this would be the day.
It can be very lonely here during the Holidays and if I let it.....I will get depressed and upset and have a hum bug of a Holiday. I am determined to be in the spirit this year and be festive........dag-on-it.
So.....not sure what our plans are just yet. We still have time to fly to Vegas! That would be a cool tradition.
We might end up at Waffle House for all I know. I guess as long as I am with my family, it won't matter. Merry Holiday to everyone (to be politically correct).
