Unseen Talent

Peaches artwork was nominated then chosen to be shown at the SC State Fair. She was the only K-5 (because she drew the picture when she was in kindergarten) winner at WKE. She was interviewed on the "WKE Nightly News" this morning and the art teacher presented her with a check. I even received a very nice phone call from her teacher stating that she was very proud of Peaches and her accomplishments. Since we haven't been to the Fair and don't plan on going this year, we don't even know what her artwork looks like. So if anyone goes please take a picture of it for me.

My "Loves"

I love Kovachi's Restaurant in Lexington. (If you go you must invite us along).
I love Egyptian Cotton bed sheets.
I love watching John bake cupcakes with Peaches (even if they didn't follow the recipe all the way, the cupcakes still tasted yummy).
I love being in bed under all the covers when it is freezing cold outside.
I love homemade hot cocoa.
I love fall.
I love my new Chicken Noodle Crock Pot Soup recipe.
I love my new haircut.
I love that my 6 year old can take a shower all by herself, dress herself and tie her shoes.
I love that when I am sick Peaches can take care of me.
I love Pink's new song "Funhouse".
I could go on and one but I will stop here for now.

Christmas in October

I am proud to say that I did all of my Christmas shopping today in under5 hours. I used all the coupons I had and stuck to my list. We did splurge on lunch at Cooper River Grill but it was sooo worth it. Why am I shopping now and missing all the good bargains you ask? Well, since we are going to VA for Thanksgiving and will be spending Christmas in SC (so bummed about that) we will be exchanging Christmas gifts during Thanksgiving. We shopped for 9 nieces and nephews and had to stop by the North Pole and give Peaches list to Santa. Now someone has to wrap all this stuff! OH J-O-H-N!

Answered Prayers

It is funny how things work out sometimes. I was at work and decided to write a prayer down (or actually type it on the computer). It didn't take me very long but I made sure to hit everything that was on my mind.....and then some. After typing the prayer I read it to myself and then read it again. I then deleted it. Several hours later I was sitting at my desk and my phone rang. It was a gentleman that I would have never expected to receive a phone call from. He was answering one of my requests that I had mentioned in my prayer. I didn't realize it until I was driving home and then this man came to my thoughts. I just busted out laughing because at that moment I realized that Heavenly Father had made him his messenger; to call me and deliver a "task" that probably wasn't very important to him but is extremely important to me. I know this is very vague and I will explain later on. I just wanted to share this with you because I know that things happen for a reason.

Flu Shot

Took Peaches to get her flu shot today (along with the other 100 people that were in line waiting for theirs). We waited 30 minutes for a shot that took 2 seconds. She cried after the nurse walked out and I felt like crying. Her little arm bled and bled. OUCH! Afterward I took her to the cupcake shop for a treat.........to get there and find out they went out of business. SOO I drove across the street to another shop to get a brownie and that store had closed at 3PM. We were 2 hours late. We drove home disappointed and ate cold cereal for dinner. Peaches then had a meltdown doing homework (which should only take 15 minutes according to the teacher) and took us 45 minutes..................and we still didn't complete all the assignments. What shall tomorrow bring?
