Roberts Family

This weekend we had all of John's family in town. John's parents and his brother Scott and his family traveled from VA with their 5 children. John's brother Andrew and his family came up from Summerville. They were all here to go with John, Peaches and I to the Temple. It was a very special day. We had a wonderful time with all of them and we already miss them. The visit was too short of course. Here are some pictures. Oh, I want to thank my dear friend Jen, who opened up her house to all 15 of us. The kids had a great time swimming! After the pool we came back to the house to eat pizza and play the Wii.

Wick Anyone?

Ok, back to the doc again this afternoon. I made Peaches go with me in case I got a shot, she was there to hold my hand. The doc put a wick in my ear (white, long, skinny thing that resembles a candle wick) to help open up my ear drum. He thinks I have a small hole in my ear drum that was caused by a virus. He gave me more ear drops and didn't charge me for the visit or the drops. If I am still unable to hear by Monday then I will go to an ENT.

I then came home and used the drops and they didn't burn (that's a good sign). I then decided to try and bust out my front tooth with the mop handle. NOT ON PURPOSE! Lets just say blood everywhere, sore tooth, deaf ear.........but the floor looks GREAT!
I hope tomorrow is better.

Back to the Doc

Here we go again. I go back to the doc tomorrow to check my still deaf ear. Meds not working. That means another doctors visit co-pay, another claim on my health insurance, likely more prescriptions and missed time from work. BUT....it will be all worth it if I can hear something besides the ringing and buzzing in my head. Oh, and now I hear dogs barking. That one just started today. HUM! I am starting to think that John enjoys yelling at me. Yeah, that needs to stop soon.

Harry Potter and the just ok movie

That's right all you HP freaks...I said the movie was just ok. Not the slam bang greatest movie I've ever seen (that still remains a tie between Die Hard and the Outlaw Josey Wales). Honestly, this episode of the Harry Potter saga isn't even in my top 10.

The action was good...there wasn't enough of it. In a summer where I've seen 30 foot transforming robots fight with swords and cannons, where I've seen Terminators crushed by helicopters, where I've seen mutants try to cut each other up with claws and swords in place of hands....it's just ok.

First of all, I don't know how they made this movie PG? I remember the book being much more action packed, and with that much fighting, it should have been PG-13...but I guess that would leave out all the 8 and 9 year olds that could go see it, hmmmm?

It was long...2 1/2 hours. Now I would say that you needed that time to properly get the feel of the book into the movie...but as you can tell from my previous paragraphs, I don't think they got it done.

Just bleh. Not worth $10 to see, especially if you have to sit through it with yer kids. At most this is a $6 movie. I paid $7.50, so I don't feel really bad. Especially since I went and saw Public Enemies yesterday for $7. Now that's a good movie. Very little language...not much graphic violence...good acting, gunfights, bank robberies, the FBI...what else could you want? Of course, John Dillinger didn't fly into the banks on a broom and threaten everyone with his Thompson Sub-machine wand, but you can't have everything.
